See where your cancellations come from.
Cancellation and no-show analytics for your hotel, with the upcoming bookings most likely to cancel. Ready for apaleo and Mews, other PMS on request. Cancellation Intelligence is free to use.
Cancellation Intelligence only reads your reservations. Nothing changes in your PMS unless you use Smart Overbooking with Auto Apply on.
What you see
Your cancellations and no-shows, broken down.
See which channels, room types, stay lengths and booking windows push your cancellation rate up, and how that changes over the year.
Your cancellation and no-show rates
For all time or the past 12 months, with your highest-risk channel and room type.
Where cancellations concentrate
Cancellations and no-shows by booking channel, room type and travel purpose.
Stay profile
Cancellation and no-show rates by party size and length of stay, from one night to four nights or more.
Cancellation timing
How far ahead guests booked, how close to arrival they cancelled and how long the rooms stayed blocked.
Trends and seasonality
Weekly cancellation rates and seasonality by month or week, compared year on year.
Bookings likely to cancel
Upcoming reservations with arrival, departure, room type and a confidence level.
Spot the patterns
Which stays cancel, and when.
Do long stays cancel more than short ones? Do bookings made a month ahead cancel more than last-minute ones? The answers differ from hotel to hotel. If four-night stays cancel twice as often as one-night stays, that's where a deposit belongs.
Act early
See which upcoming bookings are likely to cancel.
Review the reservations most likely to cancel, up to a year ahead, each with a confidence level. Filter by date, room type or reservation ID.
Some bookings on the list will still arrive, and the list can't tell you why a guest might cancel.
In practice
What you can do with it.
- 01
Tighten terms where cancellations are high
Change rates, deadlines and deposits for the channels, stay lengths and booking windows that cancel most.
- 02
Contact guests before their deadline
Send guests likely to cancel a short, practical message before their free-cancellation deadline.
- 03
Plan from expected arrivals
On dates you are unlikely to resell, plan staff and campaigns for the guests likely to arrive.
- 04
Sell a few extra rooms on busy dates
Smart Overbooking suggests a few extra rooms to sell on dates with many expected cancellations, within your daily cap.
Sell the rooms that cancellations are likely to free up.
On a busy date, a late cancellation often leaves a room empty that you could have sold to another guest. Smart Overbooking uses the same predictions to suggest how many extra rooms to sell for each date and room type, covering only part of the cancellations you expect.
Safe only counts bookings that are very likely to cancel; Moderate and Aggressive also count less certain ones. A safety buffer and your own limits (room types, a daily cap, date overrides) then reduce the number: if three bookings for a date are very likely to cancel, Safe usually suggests one extra room or none.
Smart Overbooking doesn't try to fill the hotel to 100%. It aims for more occupied rooms than you would have without overbooking, with a margin for the guests who do arrive. Start on Safe, then review the recommendations or let Auto Apply update your PMS.
